Three Years on Tirzepatide – My 61st Birthday Reflection

Image
Today, August 19th, 2025, I celebrate not only my 61st birthday but also three full years since I started tirzepatide on August 19th, 2022. Birthdays always bring a moment of reflection, but this one feels especially powerful. Three years ago, I was weighed down by more than just age and numbers on a scale. I was living with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, PCOS, insulin resistance, and hypoglycemia. My inflammation was sky high, my thyroid and blood pressure medications kept piling up, and I felt like my body was working against me no matter how hard I tried. Now, at 61, I’m standing in a completely different place. My thyroid medication has been cut down to a quarter of what it once was, my blood pressure meds reduced by half, and my Hashimoto’s antibodies slashed in half. The chronic inflammation that once ruled my days has eased in ways I never thought possible. My body feels resilient, my systems are calmer, and the fireflies of inflammation that once swarmed me, 116 of them, are gone. Ye...

🗓️ Saturday, June 29-Sun 30th, 2025 Running on Fumes, But Built to Last

I clocked in a fantastic night of sleep—9 hours and 28 minutes in bed with 8 hours and 21 minutes of solid rest. My sleep quality came in at 96%, with over 5 hours combined in REM and deep stages. That’s the kind of recovery sleep I wish I could bottle up and save for Mondays. Despite that great start, today felt like I was walking with a quiet weight on my back. By evening, my Welltory stress hit  79%  and my energy dipped to  28% , even though my health score stayed rock solid at  100%  all day. The stress spike seems to tie in with the emotional weight of heading back into that toxic work environment tomorrow. I can feel it in my body before I’ve even clocked in. My glucose stayed stable for most of the day, with just a moderate post-meal spike around dinner. No crashes, which is always a win in my book. Nutrition-wise, I hit  1,602 calories  out of my 1,650 goal. Macros were a bit off-balance: Protein:  86g (short 58g) Carbs:  174g ...

Calm, Cool, and Zepbound: What Happens When I Spend a Day With People Who Actually Love Me

Image
Saturday, June 28, 2025 Today was a solid reminder that health isn’t just about metrics—it’s about joy, connection, and getting the hell away from toxic environments. I spent the day with people who love me, people I trust, and it shows in my numbers. No drama, no operating room tension—just fresh air, laughter, and real companionship. 🧠 Energy & Stress Welltory shows a noticeable uptick in energy compared to the past few days. My stress level dropped and stayed low for most of the day. I woke up refreshed, had a peaceful morning, and stayed grounded throughout. This is what nervous system regulation actually  feels  like. Stress : Low, smooth baseline Energy : Trending upward Mood : Even and grounded, no spikes ❤️ HRV, Heart Rate & Recovery HRV is stable and higher than my weekday average, no doubt helped by the relaxed pace of the day. Resting heart rate stayed in my healthy range, and my recovery metrics are more in line with what they  should  be when I’...

Crashing from Carbs: How Skipped Meals & Sugar Spiked My Stress – A Data-Driven Health Check (June 12, 2025)

🔢  Glucose & Hypoglycemia Recap Today was another rollercoaster day in glucose management. I experienced  multiple confirmed hypoglycemic drops —the lowest reaching  53 mg/dL at 8:58 PM . Logged low glucose events: 2:58 AM — 63 mg/dL 2:23 PM — 63 mg/dL 8:00 PM — 64 mg/dL 8:27 PM — 54 mg/dL 8:58 PM — 53 mg/dL These episodes came despite balanced meals, suggesting  reactive hypoglycemia , possibly from timing mismatches between meals, digestion, and hormonal insulin response. I also did  not take Neuro Gum  today, which often helps buffer fatigue-related cognitive dips. ⌚  Apple Watch HRV Snapshot Earlier Reading (5:16 PM): Stress: 45% Energy: 77% Health: 100% Later Reading (9:02 PM): Stress: 93% Energy: 32% Health: 100% This confirms what I felt internally: I had  plenty of momentum early in the day , but stress and glucose dips by evening created a  major crash , which my body worked hard to bounce back from. 🧬 Apple Watch HRV Sn...

🧠 Supplement Deep Dive: Why I’m Trying FORCE FACTOR Hair Accelerator Chews

Image
If you’ve ever quietly cried in the car after seeing another clump of hair in your brush—or felt your throat close up walking past a mirror—this one’s for you. I’ve been dealing with  traumatic hair loss  for nearly 15 years, the kind that comes from the slow sabotage of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. I wasn’t diagnosed properly until 20 years  after  I was told I had hypothyroidism. By then, I was nearly bald on the top of my head, had gained over 100 pounds, lost multiple pregnancies, and was left wearing wigs and hats to feel okay in public.  So when I try a new product, I’m not looking for beauty. I’m looking for restoration.  For science. For  hope . 🧪 The Science Behind FORCE FACTOR Hair Accelerator These chews are centered around  Lustriva® , a clinically studied compound that’s 40x more soluble than standard biotin. It’s a unique combo of: Inositol-stabilized Arginine Silicate Magnesium Biotinate (10,000 mcg!) They also include: Vitamin C...

🌀 Daily Health Check-In 6/7/25 100% Health, 63 Glucose: Why Wins & Warnings Can Coexist on This Journey

Image
Today started with sluggish energy and high stress, eased into productivity and connection, and then delivered an unexpected midday glucose crash. The big emotional win? Clearing out my storage unit and  donating clothes that are now too big —a symbolic and real milestone in this journey. I ended up spending the afternoon with friends, which helped emotionally and physically reset. Despite the energy challenges, I still managed to get a  30-minute walk , eat mindfully, and recover quickly from the glucose drop. I’ll chalk that up to keeping snacks on hand and knowing my body well enough to catch these things early. 📊 Snapshot from Welltory & Apple Watch: Health:  100% (resilient across the board) Stress:  66% (AM) → improved to 50% by evening Energy:  39% (AM) → improved to 58% (PM) Focus:  85% (sharp and usable all day) HRV Score:  40% Coherence:  64% Nervous System:  SNS: 44 / PSNS: 34 💡 Stress fell and energy climbed gradually ...
