Tretinoin: How It Really Works Beneath the Skin

Image
Tretinoin has earned the title of being a gold standard in dermatology for a reason. Unlike many skincare products that just sit on the surface, tretinoin actually changes the way your skin functions at a cellular level. Here is what happens after you apply it. Absorption: The First Step Tretinoin is a small, fat-soluble molecule. That means it can pass through the outer skin barrier with relative ease. Within about 30 to 60 minutes, most of what you apply has already moved past the surface and into the deeper layers where it can start doing its job. This is why if you apply tretinoin in the morning and shower a few hours later, you are not washing away the benefit. By then, it has already entered the skin. Receptor Binding: Flipping the Switch Inside your skin cells are retinoic acid receptors, or RARs. Think of them as switches waiting to be turned on. When tretinoin binds to these receptors, it signals your cells to start expressing new patterns of genes. This is the foundation of a...

✨ Why I’m Adding NAD+ Injections to My Longevity Stack (and What Else I’m Trying from Amble) 💉🧬

Image
I’ve been taking  liposomal NAD+ precursor capsules from CATAKOR  for over a year, and I can honestly say they’ve been one of the smartest additions to my routine. 💊⚡ This isn’t some jittery quick fix. The energy is smooth, the focus is steady, and the mental clarity is real. People often tell me I  don’t look my age , so that’s a plus. But for me, this has never been about chasing youth. It’s about staying functional, strong, and mentally sharp as I head into my 60s with purpose. Now I’m stepping it up a notch. My boyfriend has been doing  monthly NAD+ infusions  for a while now. They’ve helped him, but they’re also uncomfortable, time-consuming, and extremely expensive. I’d love to try them myself, but the idea of sitting at an infusion clinic for an hour every month, plus the cost, just doesn’t fit into my schedule or my budget. 💸 That’s why  Amble’s injectable NAD+  caught my attention. It offers a more affordable, flexible option that fits...

🧨 Friday, July 5 – Post-Fourth Reset & Breakthrough Check-In 🎇 END of the 10 month rollercoaster and “STALL"

Image
I've had losing phases over the last 10 months, but they were always short-lived, frustratingly inconsistent, and often followed by rebounds. The backstory matters: last September, my doctor had to lower my dose of tirzepatide from 12.5 mg to 7.5 mg—not because of blood sugar meds (I don’t take any), but due to repeated  reactive hypoglycemia  episodes. That’s a rare side effect, especially for someone who isn’t diabetic. We couldn’t find 10 mg at the time, so we dropped to 7.5—and it completely backfired. I gained, my inflammation returned, and I felt like I was trapped in my own body again. Eventually, I pushed to try 10 mg again. I couldn’t get the brand version, so I switched to a  compounded GLP-1/GIP mix through AMBLE , and things started to level out. But for months, the journey has been rocky. Even while eating right and staying active, progress felt elusive—mirroring the way things were before medication. The one major factor always working against me?  Slee...
