𧨠Friday, July 5 – Post-Fourth Reset & Breakthrough Check-In π END of the 10 month rollercoaster and “STALL"
I've had losing phases over the last 10 months, but they were always short-lived, frustratingly inconsistent, and often followed by rebounds. The backstory matters: last September, my doctor had to lower my dose of tirzepatide from 12.5 mg to 7.5 mg—not because of blood sugar meds (I don’t take any), but due to repeated reactive hypoglycemia episodes. That’s a rare side effect, especially for someone who isn’t diabetic. We couldn’t find 10 mg at the time, so we dropped to 7.5—and it completely backfired. I gained, my inflammation returned, and I felt like I was trapped in my own body again.
Eventually, I pushed to try 10 mg again. I couldn’t get the brand version, so I switched to a compounded GLP-1/GIP mix through AMBLE, and things started to level out. But for months, the journey has been rocky. Even while eating right and staying active, progress felt elusive—mirroring the way things were before medication. The one major factor always working against me? Sleep.
A couple months ago, I thought I had finally broken through again, but a Hashimoto’s flare hit hard. Even when the scale was lowest, my face stayed puffy, inflamed, and unrecognizable. That messes with your head. But this past week? Something shifted—and this time, it's sticking.
π― The Breakthrough:
I’ve now been in a consistent losing phase for several days. No rebounds. No spikes. Just gentle, predictable downward movement. My calories are right around 1,600/day, only slightly lower than before, but I did make a few strategic changes:
π₯ Two cups of Lactaid milk blended with Jocko MOLK protein powder
✨ Lately, I’ve been adding a Diamond Brew Craft Espresso pod into the shake. These are concentrated espresso shots in a tiny biodegradable pod, rich and strong, with a smooth crema and no bitterness. You can add them to hot water or pour them straight into recipes or shakes like I’ve been doing. Could that little extra kick be part of the shift? I don’t know—but I feel it.
π¦ A serving of FAGE Best Self Yogurt- if you are lactose intolerant, try it!
π Extra few ounces of lean turkey breast at dinner (a turkey rollup if you will)
π€ And for the first time in a long while—four nights of truly restful sleep in the past 10 days
Exercise has actually been lighter—just chores and holiday hosting—but the scale is dropping, and more importantly, I feel better. Right now, I’m taking 12.5 mg tirzepatide, rotating between brand and compounded forms.
π Week 150 Milestone – Injection Update
Friday, July 4 would have marked the official start of Week 150 on tirzepatide. But this week, I took my shot very late Thursday night to make sure I had strong appetite suppression over the holiday weekend. For me, suppression is strongest on day three, so timing matters when events are coming up.
This marks 150 consecutive weeks since I first started tirzepatide in August 2022—originally with Mounjaro, then switching to Zepbound when it launched, and using compounded equivalents as needed, depending on availability. Talk to me about Amble if your barrier of entry to these medicines is coverage or cost.
I’m so deeply grateful that this medicine exists. I truly believe it has saved my life—not just in pounds, but in possibility. π
π Supplement Spotlight – Lullabites Sleep Gummies
Better sleep may have been the final missing piece. I've been using Lullabites at night—a melatonin-free blend with L-theanine, chamomile, lemon balm, GABA, tart cherry, and 5-HTP. On nights I take it, my deep sleep and REM cycles improve, and I wake up clearer. I didn’t take one last night since I’m away from home, but this is definitely staying in the toolkit.
π Sleep & Recovery (Last Night):
⏰ Bedtime: 4:30 AM (post-party wind-down)
π΄ Total sleep: 4h 56m
π€ Sleep quality: 52%
⚠️ HRV Score: 9%
⚡️ Energy: 21%
π₯ Stress: 93%
π’ Health Resilience: 100%
π©Έ Glucose (after Jocko + Diamond Brew shake):
✅ 115 mg/dL – a clean, steady number especially with minimal sleep
π‘ Final Thoughts:
I say this often—try different things. If it works for your body, and you're nourishing yourself well, you're on the right track. I’m not restricting. I’m not overexercising. I’m not punishing my body—I’m supporting it.
My bloodwork is coming up this week ahead of my doctor appointment in 10 days, and I’m actually excited to see what’s going on internally. I feel lighter, more balanced, and more in control. Not just losing again—but actually living again.
